Rod rotators have been used for decades as a solution to extend rod life in rod lift systems by distributing the surface wear of the rod versus being isolated to one side. But one of the biggest challenges with rotators is being able to confirm that proper rod rotation is taking place. ChampionX’s SmartSpin™ wireless rod rotator sensor offers an effective solution to confidently confirm your rod rotator is working properly with quick deployment and flexible integration into existing equipment.

Confirm rod rotation and extend the lift of your well
Leveraging a proprietary sleep/wake sensing methodology, the SmartSpin sensor “wakes up” every 15-30 minutes to report data and then goes back to sleep. The data reports out the health of the rod rotator, including rotation status and communications status. If desired, you can use an additional analog input to view the rotation velocity to confirm how fast the rods are rotating.
